I have had regular colonics for about a year ago now, as I struggled naturally going to the toilet since having my child, even though I eat a relatively healthy diet.
My stomach had always felt a bit hard and bloated - I only went to the toilet about once a week, so I was recommended by a friend to try a colonic.
As I didn't know what they were going to do, or even if it would hurt, I was a little nervous for my first treatment. However, the therapist was very reassuring and highly knowledgeable about the whole process, so I relaxed as I knew I was in good hands.
Before the procedure was started, some background information was taken.
The best way to describe the feeling is of a slight period pain, though nothing more than that. The room itself is a very calming, relaxing and quiet environment, and this helped reduce any nerves I had, which in turn gave me a better colonic as a result. The fact my that my body was not at all tensed up, meant that I reacted very well to the treatment.
The after effects of the treatment were also pretty minor. After the colonic a felt a little drained, though my stomach felt much softer than before. I even lost 2 lbs which is always a good thing!
I found I needed three procedures to get me the best results. I had the first two colonics within the first two weeks, and then a third 3-4 weeks after that. Now I have regular colonic every 6-8 weeks which seem to really suit my body, but as even reacts differently to the procedure, this may be different for someone else.
As well as continuing to have regular colonic treatment, I have also made improvements to my diet and exercise routine. As advised by therapist, I began to exercise three times a week and continued to include more fibre in my diet. After around eight weeks I noticed a marked sustained improvement in my bowel movements.
I would highly recommend anybody to have regular colonic at the clinic, especially with Louise. As well as making me feel so calm and relaxed, she has a lot of knowledge of the colonic process, plus a great understanding of diet and exercise which combined with the treatment, will help achieve the best results.
Having a regular monthly colonic hydrotherapy treatment has significantly improved my symptoms of irritable bowel syndrome. Prior to having treatments I suffered with very severe bloating and stomach pains on almost a daily basis, and was taking medication. Now I rarely suffer With any symptoms and have not taken any medication for over 2 years.
Louise my therapist put me at ease from the very beginning and as the time has passed I have relaxed more with every treatment.
Although Colonic Hydrotherapy is quite an invasive treatment, it actually is rarely uncomfortable and I find that it is painless.
I am so pleased that colonic hydrotherapy has become a regular feature in my life, and after 25 years of suffering I have at last found a solution to my problems.
Louise the colonic hydrotherapist is very good at what she does and very good at putting clients at ease during what is, without doubt, an unusual proceedure.
I found that, if i relax i manage to hold the water longer giving a better result.
